Friends list issues

I only have 8 of my friends showing up on my friends list, and I'm trying to connect with one friend who I can see is playing Borderlands and he's not even on my friends list in game. Anyone else having this issue?

We can all connect on the Playstation chat okay, just not with Borderlands

Another season; another thread.

So the format will still be the same. I'll still be watching, updating, and giving brief, or not so brief, opinions on what I watch. This time though, there's no real set goal as school has started. I'll watch it whenever I don't feel the need to game and there's no schoolwork in the way.

Like always, feel free to suggest anything I should watch. I'm open-minded on most fronts, and I do mean most, I.E. Strike Witches, so I don't mind going outside of my normal habits.

I still have to comb through the list that was provided in the Summer thread, so if you suggested something there, it'll most likely be watched soon..If I have the time of course.

So, away I go with another season. First update will be tonight. Now if only I bother to update my MAL profile.. Last Update: July 6th. :lol:

Weapons help for a noob

I'm a level 48 mordecai, and I have some questions:

First and foremost; how do you decide what gun is better than another?
Up until now, I believed that this can be answered most accurately by looking at the weapons resale value (shown at the bottom of the stats card), but I am now starting to have my doubts, is rarity color anything to go by? because i have sold many an orange weapon to marcus because its resale value was lesser then some of my purples and blues.

Also, what are pearlescents and legendary's? I've seen those words thrown around alot on these forums. Are they really good? or just rare?

Lastly, where should I go (or who should i kill) to get rare weapons? I have no DLCs

help would be appreciated, Thanks!

I mean GOD, I have killed him about 40 times (solo) with a +2 or +3 (I forget) rare item find.

Good Place To Farm In Knoxx Besides Craw and Armory?

Besides Craw, since he won't drop level 61, and Knoxx where is a good place to farm for level 61 weapons? (Mainly Pearls) I'm trying to find a good route to take so I can hit them all. The armory has gotten old. I want to shoot something! I've already completed Circle of Duty so I can't milk it anymore. Also, maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that when you completed Knoxx on PT2 the enemies raised to level 60-61? I still have a few spot where enemies and chests are around 56-57. Is this normal? The first place to come to mind is where you take out the first road block to get to Moxxi. Thanks.

Just got Borderlands and I found this rocketlauncher on my soldier that i would like to use on brick. I read the only way to transfer weapons is online so I was wondering if someone could help me out with this, thanks.

I'm sure others have formed little BL guilds, but I thought me and my friends had a pretty fun setup that I thought I'd share

We formed a small group of Hunters only whose mission statement was to collect as much swag as humanly possible. This meant all members had to max out the loot gaining talents (Ransack & Swipe) as well as only equip comms that gave bonuses to these skills.

pretty funny to see a couple of Bloodwings zoom out and hit one dude and watch the money fly like a loot pinata! With a maxed out Bloodwing tree, things got pretty commical with the money, talk about fields of gold.

Anyways, a few guild rules (ok actually only two, but they are integral!);
All loot, no matter the suckitude must be collected.
and most importantly
dueling

duels are to be fought over the find of any orange, pearl or named weapon. But, and this is key, the playing field must be leveled. No shields and both duelers must equip a pair of identical revolvers (we got lucky early on and found a vend with twin identical revolvers for sell, Jakobs, 65ish damage, under .X RoF, 6 rounds) A third Guild Member is to referee the fight, by holding the two pistols while the duelers move to opposite outer boundaries of the duel circle. The ref then throws the pistols down and then finds a high point to fire his own weapon, signaling the start of the duel. The combatants race to the closest pistol and then deal copious amounts of death until dead. Winner advances to the next tree of the duel, until all guildies have fought for it, with the ultimate winner taking the prize.
We had alternate rules for pearls, that the two duelers turned to face the duel wall while the ref, hid the pistols somewhere, so water pits or rocky terrain were better! Alas we never found a pearl, so this never had the chance to see how this worked.

The best part was these duels had to take place immediately, so it was pretty wild to find a pearl in a zombie mob, have to drop your shields and weapons and run from the zombies and your guild mate while fighting for some random orange!

also, in pirate/treasure hunter fashion everyone was required to have piratey names. Our guild was composed of Two-Eyed Bill, Peg-Armed Pete and No Beard...we were a small guild

anyways that is something different we did to spice things up in group play, anyone else trying any out-the-box thinking?

Level 61 farming Crimson Fastness

So i got bored and went to Fastness with my 61 solider. Just went around destroying every thing and noticed all the loot was garbage compared to when I used to farm pre-knoxx. So i did about 20 runs and came out with a crappy firehawk. Does being a level 61 in a level 50 area make all the loot garbage or was that just bad luck

WOW! Is all I can say. I loved 4. Hated 5. hated 6. Black ops actually looks good and some of the new games types is amazing. 4 Will always be the best this has some potential. Thoughts?

Gameplay lag in 3rd DLC

I have a problem in the 3rd DLC area's of the game lagging to helling when I look at the landscape and it gets even worries when I get into vehicles, it gets to the point where it's unplayable unless I look forward then the game stops lagging.

My system is a brand new 27" iMac only a few days running bootcamp so it's a clean install of windows. All other games I have tested work fine e.g. L4D2, Fallout 3, Alien Swarm, Prototype and Red Faction Guerrilla.

Specs:
Intel quad core i7 860 @ 2.93
8Gb of RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5750, which is a mobility 5870
Windows 7 pro 64bit

Game setting all on high and running at 2560x1440

I played the 2rd DLC and other parts of the games with no problems. I'm new to ATI cards and have always used nVidia before. So don't know any thing about ATI drivers. I have the iMac fans running on full so the CPU never gets about 70c. If you need any more info just say.

How some one can help

My Merc Lilith Build

First off, the Skill Tree

My Lilith serves as a strong contender against any enemy type (with a quick weapon reassignment)
Equipped with SMGs, Repeater Pistols, and High Elemental support weapons of your choice (i prefer high accuracy shotguns, a la my 77.1 Acc Maliwan Pestilent Crux), My Build can take on a combination of enemy types and deal high crits and elemental stacks quickly.
With a 550 Mercenary Class Mod Providing Ammo Regen and +56% SMG Damage, Sub Machine Guns become a deadly asset and invaluable on the battlefield.
My build's Phasewalk is ONLY Useful for a quick getaway with strong health regen, her Melee is definitely on the lacking side, but i rarely melee anyway, so it works for me.

A Weak spot in my build, is that i have no powerful Shock weapons, at all.
I don't come across them anymore during gameplay anymore, i have no idea why. I have a decent Fulgurating Thumper but the RoF is painful in comparison to my other SMGs, and it can't stack elemental as quickly as i'd like it to.

I'd love to trade with someone, or go shopping with someone in the armory. (I broke Super-Marcus Sweep with one of my friends, we didn't know about the elevator :cry:)
