After putting an amazing amount of time into Oblivion you end up with 26 places to call home and some powerful gear.
With nothing worth fighting. How do you think Borderlands will differ with its "Main Quest" reward? Which is from what I gather finding the vault of alien technology. It is said to hold treasure, amazing alien tech and "power"? This all sounds cool but how cool would it be to open up a device that endows your character with powers. The ability to throw a buggy with your mind? Or to kill a Yak from 200 yards away? Think about it.

It all sounds cool, but I have no idea where to begin speculate with the lack of info they have released about the story. My biggest hope for endgame content is download expansions to continue the questing for high levels characters.

Cool, thanks for the reply Pullup.
What I was getting at was more toward " what would satisfy you as a main quest type reward" type of question. Just getting some new gear could be cool depending on the equipment but I think I'm just trying to test the waters and see if anyone else was as disappointed in Oblivions idea of rewards. The way this game is looking, just be able to continue on sfter the main mission would be cool enough. |

FPS games don't have an "endgame". The game just ends.

Yeah, I can't think of a single FPS that had any kind of continuation of play after the end. But with the random area generation they could have a mode where the enemies are scaled to your level and you can just battle, it could be like Diablo 2's different difficulties with better gear as you continue.

Hey just give me a lot bandit hideouts, creature hives and home areas, AI on par with FEAR and I'll be entertained for a while. I'll probably still be playing this even after a year from it's release, it just seems that fun to me.
