I keep reading "shouldnt do X or Y cause of game balance issues" etc etc.
Why exactly is that important? Do those people really believe that if we have X or Y we will really just go against the unwashed plebs of the internet? No dammit. Stuff like that would mostly for friends vs friends stuff, where you probably wont see one person bunny hopping and firing rockets non stop. No game survives idiot testing, cause idiots are, well, idiots. The simple fact we can do a thing is fun in itself. Simple being able to knife multiple people and enabling more then 1v1 would be quite useful for weapon testing especialy if we can free range rather then being stuck in a bubble, then the entire map is the arena. |

There would always be a way to balance PvP.
There is no reason why it could not be sorted out. I'm hoping We can hear something on this soon from Gearbox. A simple Yes we are working on it. Or No there is no chance...You guys can forget about it and stop posting in hopes of recieving your wishes

IMO if gearbox is able to add PvP in the arena would be great. Even though I love playing this game now later on I'm gonna get bored of it because of it's repetitive gameplay. Adding some competitive gaming in borderlands would make the game less repetitive. It also let players to show off their mods or weapons by beating the other player.A con about this is modders will try to mod their weapons or mods to be overpowered. Having a PvP will prove the test of teamwork because if it's a 4v4 you cant have 4 people in one team to focus only on their offense in their build. This creates spaces for support character seeing that people go more for the all out attack than support in borderlands. I could go on and on about this but I dont want to bored any of you about my details so i just leave it like that.

Well theres alot of things that can happen for instant death in pvp duels, but maybe a simple damage resistance system could fix it and make it a longer duration fight, I mean say Brick he goes berserk and his resist allows him to take the gun shots, there is still the chance for instant k/o knife to his face, or even (haven't tested but it looks promising) the siren melee k/o to the back in phase of course. Back to the point making a system the gives players resistance while in arena so the can take shots but NOT to the extent that they take
20 shots to the head from a shotgun that hits 4k plus critical modifier. Healing pots would have to be disabled, no one want someone hiding behind a rock recharging shield and drinking pots from there 100+ backpack. One prob is bricks resist if there was such a system he would take little or no damage with, and the duration of his berserk can be awhile, but once its down hes just flesh and bone. I do see work but man I would pay out and still am for expansions. December 29th Can't wait .

Yeah, I think nobody expects it to be as complicated as PvP in WOW. Just something simple - it doesn't even have to be ranked - like you mentioned would be a welcome addition. |
