Couldn't you do a Kismet Console command to open the main menu map?

Hm, I probably could have :B I tried a lot of other things like trying to trigger the game completed and to go to credits which is what you have to do for custom gears of war maps. Tried a lot of other things but they didn't work either Never thought to make it load up the main menu. Guess it's kinda too late now

Well, I just installed HH to play this map, and everything worked pretty well.
The map is a cosmetic marvel. I only wish all of HH looked as good as this map.

It was a short one, but truly sweet. Thanks for that, Burkart.

Very nice looking map. Thanks. Was very short though.

Btw I think you made a typo here:

Quote:
Once the console is enabled you can run the game. When the main menu comes up press the tilde key to open the console and type “open SP-Factory.gbxmap” (without quotations) to run the map. Everything else should run well from there.
should be: open SP-CountrySide.gbxmap

I was planning on putting one up but every time I upload to youtube the video just gets really dark and loses most of its color... Still looking for a way to fix this. Trying different ways to encode to see if that will work :B Anyone got any ideas on how to fix the videos just turning out real dark?

Your maps (Factory and Countryside) have been very well received at biafiles.com... Thanks for allowing them to be hosted.

I'm wondering: in what ways was it more difficult to create a map for HH compared to RtH30 or EiB? Conversely, in what ways was it easier to map for HH?

I wasn't around for developing RTH30 or EIB, I only worked on HH but I can tell you that HH was quite a bit more difficult from what other devs there told me at the time, a lot of it has to do with the large complexity increase the levels got from jumping from UE2 games to UE3 games. I could spend about 4-5 months to make a singleplayer level in UE2 from start to finish and take 7-8 months making a singleplayer level in UE3. The cover system in HH was very difficult to work with as it was still being worked on as well as probably about 60% of the bugs coming in to level designers had to do with the cover system in some way.
