Not at all. Let me state it simply: innovation has no positive or negative affect on a game's quality.

Also, I own a PS3 and a Wii, but I have no controller preference. I spend enough time at friends' houses playing the 360 that I'm pretty acclimated to it. However, I am considering spending an extra $300 to construct the almighty PSWii60.

Actually, I love a good developer catfight. I often wish these guys would meet each other on the streets and engage in freestyle rap battles. The main reason this one sparked so much controversy is that Randy's original statements appear to describe a company which is definitely not Valve.
