I want to add that I don't really care about storage chests. Right now, I have like 28 slots and that seems enough, but it would definitely be nice if some items I have could be stored... such as some guns which require a few more levels to use, or those class mods that aren't too useful yet but will be (eg. they add to talents that I don't have any points in yet). Also, it's really annoying how health kits take up space; it would've been nice if they do not and have their own space (eg. you can only carry 4 or something).

But overall, so far I don't think storage is necessary. People whining about it are just pack-rats and need to learn to let go.

I'll chime in... I dont game much but the reason I'd like a storage container is because I'm at a pretty low level, and from the sounds of it, you guys aren't. You guys have the SDU's for your backpack space, I don't have nearly as much space as you and I keep finding some badass guns that are way over my character level. For instance at level 17 I had a Combat Rifle with a level requirement of 32. I thought Huh? then I realized I'll just hang onto it til I get there... FAT CHANCE, Don't get me wrong, I made a hefty amount of change off of it but I would have liked to keep it. I don't want them to eliminate my ability to find guns way out of my league cuz then I wouldn't have bragging rights over my buddies, but I would like a storage container to keep them in til I can use them. I even came up with a badass name, ready... A GearBox. Hopefully you understand my side, everyone else, whatever the reason, I think mine makes sense.

This game needs a storage for weapons above anything else in my opinion. I just would love the feeling of looking through my glorious selection of guns, especially the unique ones such as T.Ks wave.

i would love to have a storage chest so when i make new characters i dont have to spend an hour and a half to transfer level appropriate gear between my 9 mules.
2 purple weapon mules 2blue 2 green 2 shield/mods and 1 random asorted that wouldnt fit on the other 8. then there are 2 of my 3 50s with full invintorys of orange weapons and my 3rd with 10 spots left.i keep all orange guns and any weapon or shield that has phenominal stats for that class or level.

Not all orange guns are good. You can sell or drop all but 4. I have a max of 6 weapons in my inventory. If it's not better than the item you already have pitch it.

If you really want to save everything just copy your save file with all the items on the character and move it to another folder, then you'll have a backup of all those weapons.

Some people like me like to collect. I may hold on to it because of good stats but that's not the be all end all by any stretch (there are plenty of overpowered gear that I will not use because it breaks the game imo). I may want to keep something because it looks good, or has an uncommon sight I like, or my favorite elemental effect, or shoots a unique projectile, or a good class mod for me to use on another character... I could go on, but it simply comes down to people who like to collect stuff and get enjoyment for doing that part of the game, and other people who don't.

For us who do, it would be nice to have a way of doing it with without being penalized by having to go through the clunky loop hole of having a friend hold stuff while we switch, or cataloging mule after mule to hold and transfer stuff back and forth, especially when you consider GBX made a gear builder to create a "bazillion" different ones...

In game design, limiting inventory space is a technique which allows developers to restrict the number of tools which a player has available at any time, which forces the player to perform inventory management. This increases the difficulty and challenge of the game.

A storage or bank system is a seperate animal. By allowing players to store items found in a way where they're not immediately accessible provides several advantages to a player's experience:

1) Increased choice. Instead of only having to choose what to carry in their inventory, they also have to choose what's worth keeping in their storage.

2) Convenience. Instead of having to sell/destroy/drop or not even pick up the things they find, they can move it to a storage area.

3) Measuring achievement. It doesn't take much imagination to be able to see a storage area as a personal trophy room, which brings a certain satisfaction to many players. An otherwise useless item that would not be worth an inventory slot could be kept as a sentimental reminder of a past achievement.

Borderlands has a fundamental flaw in its inventory design: too much character inventory space, while having no storage space.

This needs to be implemented, every game has it. Its standard feature these days.

Dont ever attempt to sell me a rip off DLC without implementing a storage chest/mail system first. Stop being cheap developers and start working for your hotdogs.
