Default Harcore mode? DLC 4 mayhaps.

My speculation for a future DLC is "hardcore mode". It will raise all enemies up to 60-63, indirectly making it necessary for you to purchase Knoxx to get lvl 61. On top of that, there will be more badass enemies than non-BA's. Bosses will be lvl 64, have more hp, do more damage, have new attacks or "phases", and have more diverse/worthwhile loot tables. It will work like a separate playthrough, only the main story missions will be played (since there wont be a raise level cap) and they will give worthwhile rewards for completeing (Backpack upgrades, ammo capacity upgrade, Possibly a couple skill points). It will also raise any forthcoming DLCs and Zombie Island to the new hardcore lvl range.

Hardcore mode would make alot of people happy, myself included. Im sure a handful of people would be marginally upset that it would require Knoxx to survive through it though.

Maybe Im dreaming. Or maybe i believe in Gearbox.

Would you like to see Hardcore mode?

If so what would you like to see outside of what I quickly jotted down?

I'm not sure how the MP scaling works or whether it can be extended beyond 4, but a simple solution would be allowing the host (or even single player game) to select how many players to scale the game to (up to 8 would be plenty). This already would make the enemies tougher and would use code already present in the game.

PC players can already do this by editing thier .ini files. Anyone doing this on PC...does changing the player number to above 4 make any difference in the enemy spawns?

I'm more interested in scaling, however it gets there. IMHO a difficulty slider is ideal, and you can get a form of hardcore by turning it all the way up. I'd certainly appreciate scaling by area - having some areas be at your level and others be 1 or 2 or 3 levels above - dynamically, of course. Hardcore mode would be my last choice, but I'd certainly like it more than what we have now.

I have to say that I finally took my lvl 50 Mord into Knoxx, and got my butt kicked a bit. It wasn't too much of a butt-kicking, but it was more fun than the cakewalk my lvl 61 Siren experiences in Knoxx.

Hopefully they'll read this topic .

Good idea, I would definitely pay $10 for it.

However, some people might start complaining because they have to pay for the scaling that should've been there in the first place.

Only if it is rewarding (I'm talking no need of endless farming) and fully soloable (cough Crawmerax...)

I love playing Hardcore modes. Including the kinds with permadeath... would really love this in BL.

This is a feature, not content. I’d rather have DLC be content; new maps, new quests, new bosses, new loot. At best, a hard mode should be an included/patched-in feature with the game and not an extra charge to increase the replay-ability.

Had to vote no because I don't want GBX/2K to get the idea they can/should charge extra for features that increase replay-ability of existing content.
