I was playing through Borderlands with my younger brother. Then we remembered the very first Borderlands we saw.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxOve8kSq5c I love the look and feel of the game. I dig the art style, but it would also be cool to look at the game the way it was first planned out. Like so: Old Borderlands. Would it be rational to think they can re-skin the entire game? Allow you to select which art-style you would prefer to play in. I know somethings are out of the question, but it's a thought. I don't know if anyone has mentioned this or posted this before, but what's you opinion on this? |

I kinda love the artstyle they went with.
I think it really boosted interest in borderlands. Old artstyle is very bland and meh |

I love the art-style as well. I would be an interesting option to have. Like some games have camera filters. I would think that the art direction of the game sent a few people away. If people don't like this art direction then they can choose the one they are more comfortable with.

but for those who like the old one better, i don't see why not, other than sort of having to change the map a little...

I'm not even sure i'd have played the "old" Borderlands. Personally it's the art style what brought me into the game and what make blands unique

I would like to the option too. Some of the things the enemies say would off-set the more serious looking graphics, but I wouldn't be a bad option to have.

I personally wouldn't want the option, for only one reason. Even though I think a much better-looking game could be developed using the original look and graphics, current Borderlands is not that game. The current levels are designed with minimal effort going into the visuals department, and with a very few exceptions, are all built out of the same 10 to 15 pieces of recycled dystopia-rubble stretched or resized in a build engine and dropped into place.
So I think I'd only really want the realistic graphics applied to better-looking areas with newer, more high-tech scenery. Otherwise, I think the Concept Art graphics carry a lot of the game's current visuals.

I think that they should've sombined to two together, like you can see the weapon move more realistically when recoil is felt, whereas in the present version, they're like robotic, with no personality to them aside from when they talk.

the old graphics do look very good, but they just dont suite borderlands at all. every FPS is 'real' graphics with a serious tone to it. borderlands isnt a serious game and i think the new art graphics show that and its what makes borderlands look unique and make it more fun to play
