Change Pearl drop rates...

It's beyond ridiculous when after ~80 runs of Crawmerax and a dozen in the armoury and still not a single pearl. This incredibly rare drop rate only hurts people who don't dupe them ( they are commonplace to those who do).

Either make it something like a 1/35 gold rate OR have it at 1/60 but you are guaranteed one after you have obtained 60 golds. With maybe the pearl dorpping from the next boss you kill (in the armoury dlc).

Trust me I know where your coming from. I'm aching for a Serpens and I still haven't got one out of heaps of runs, but as was stated, they are meant to be painfully rare. Keep legit, keep farming and when you finnaly get he drop yur after it wil be amazing and you'll feel great reward.

I was after an OGRE for months and it was only from Crawmerax that I finaly got it. It was awesome, and it's pretty much my favourite weapon. There are lots of pearls floating around but these are ones everyone has duped and all are just boring clones of each other.

keep going and you will enjoy the journey that Borderlands intended: the search for that ever ellusive amazing gun.

Uhuh and i'm dying for an aries...my main gripe is that this isn't an MMORPG,there isn't a need for epic end game items to wag your e-peen about and show off. Having a chance 30 times smaller than a gold is enough surely...

I'm fine with them being rare... it's that you can still get crap in a pearl that pisses me off. I got a pearl sheild (forgot the name) and it's only 2050 with a 130 recharge. Not 100% on the numbers since I'm at work, but it's way worse than any of my other sheids. Lame.

After 100+ hours of farming, I'm giving up. I now realize there's no point:

1) Many people already have many many duped and/or modded pearls.

2) When the next DLC comes out Gearbox will likely either tweak the loot system or introduce new weapons which will make the current pearls obsolete.

3) There's no content to use them on anyway. I've already beaten Crawmerax and Knoxx many times on my oranges.

4) It's a terrible waste of time to be playing the same two areas again and again and again. If the whole game was level balanced at 2.5 it would have been much better.

If you can be guaranteed a chance to get pearls, how long do you think you'll keep farming the same one boss, over and over again?

GB's job is to keep you playing this game as long as possible so you'll still buy their add-on packs.

Expect no help coming your way.

Something like 500+ runs and only 3 pearls.
Yet I don't really mind for some reason.

The short version is now the same as it ever was, pre-patch 1.3, pre-Knoxx... If you like playing the game, you'll find a way to keep playing. If all you want is the "bestest lewtz" without all the "game mechanics" hassle, just head to the trade forum, where someone will dupe you their "best possible" constructs so you can go back to 1-shotting everything except bosses like you were before...
