Possible to kill Crawmerax at LvL 45 ?!?

Hello there, I bought the game with all the available DLC just some 2 weeks ago.

I'm still on PT1 with my Roland (45) and just completed all of the DLC3 quests for the first time, but Crawmerax.

So my question is: Is it posible to beat Crawmerax with a Lvl 45 Roland or should'nt I even bother to try it and level up to 61 first?

I don't want to start with PT2 basically, as I'm looking forward to play through the whole available content with the other classes first... maybe there'll be another DLC before I'm finished doing so, so i don't have to start with PT2

Even on playthough 1 he can one shot a level 61 character.

Hmm... so Crawmerax isn't ment to do in PT1 at all? Why I got the quest then? It's looking freakishly bad in the quest-log, if there's open missions

You can be level 61 by the end on PT1. I was.

How would that be possible?

I did all quests in Vanilla, Dr Ned, Moxxi and Knoxx and I don't see how I would be able to do another 16 levels in PT1 tbh. Or do you suggest to run around for some 2 or 3 month killing mobs mindlessly?

Just come back to PT1 after playing PT2 for a bit, I end up doing that everytime more DLC comes back anyways.

Don't let anyone suggest how you should play the game. Play it like you enjoy it. The fact is, PT1 craw isn't a lower level than PT2 craw because the developers didn't want solo players to have access to a weaker version. They wanted it to be group only. If they made PT1 craw level 50, the solo player could go back to PT1 and actually have a decent chance of enjoying the content, without the chance of a 61 pearl dropping of course, but still find the encounter plausible.

They didn't want that. They wanted to include exclusive content. For me, they get one shot at it. Next time the exclude me from part of their game, I'll find a different playground.
