Its kinda sad when every other developer on the planet is able to freely talk about their games. But it seems like only gearbox is denied its rights to show and gather feedback from a mass mainstream audiance.
Reminds me of a past title they released that was of lower quality that was promised to be..... Maybe gathering data from real gamers concerned with the series is a better strategy then picking noobs off the street , blindfolding them, and telling them they will be playing a random game (aliens) and ask them what they think of it after 30 minutes of playing it and basing gameplay changes on that. I would be willing to bet even if the game "isnt ready to show" a simple subtitle at the bottom of the screen reading (PRE ALPHA) would suffice to tell gamers its not a finished product instead of just not telling them anything about it until a week from release and then act suprised when nobody buys it. But then again , gearbox might just have a game that just isnt turning out and they need to push it out the door to try to make even so they can start on something else. |

Well they didn’t exactly skip it, they were there, they just didn’t show ACM.
![]() We don’t know if Gearbox will even be showing off ACM. Could be SEGA.

how do you know gearbox isn't going to be there? i think this last one they technically weren't listed until you looked under 2k games. aliens is being published by sega, so maybe check there.

If they skip E3 then I think the last chance we will get a glimpse of it is at the Tokyo Game Show, although I don't know if the Japanese are as into it as North America and Europe.

There is also Pax Prime which is happening in September I believe which would be around five months before A:CM is released IF they do the one year after AvP3 thing.
And if Gearbox was listed on the E3 Exhibitor's List that would probably be a straight away YES to showing off A:CM.

If GBX is not there, then there is a good reason. They are taking the time to make this game sickning. And, if they do show at E3, i think it will be a suprise of some sort, which would be sweet.

I agree, it's just flat-out ridiculous. From the gist of what botman has said, it seems to be leaning that way, in which case I'm going to write off A:CM until further notice. The problem with having games so long in development is that technology advances and developers end up having to start anew/rewrite code to fit a new graphics engine, which I have a feeling Gearbox has had to do at least once with A:CM so far.

Say if A:CM were to be there...
Would it be Gearbox or Sega showing it off? http://www.e3expo.com/exhibitors/92/exhibitor-list/ |

It also didn't work out too well in their favor with Borderlands when they first announced the new visual direction, after everyone had already seen and fallen in love with the pre-alpha footage they showed at E3 '07. I think a brief status update would be enough.

Oh gawd yeah. It got tiring reading the feedback from that.
And no matter how much sense talking anyone did, it was still a case of “but its not like the E306 tech demo!!!” ![]() Argggggghhhh! Brain implosion.
