Default SLOOOOOW loading levels

This is the slowest loading game I have ever played. When I get killed on a level and then reload from the last saved, it takes forever! I mean I keep a magazine here to look at while it loads.
I am very suprised to not see anybody else complaining about it. Or is it just my PC? I have a good system: P3.06HT, 784 RAM, 7200 RPM SATA HD. I defragged yesterday and it is still slow. I was hoping a patch might be able to improve it.

Did you turn the Vsync option off, because that really improves the loading times?

That was it! I can't believe it. It is easily 5 times faster. Anybody want a joke, turn on VSYNC on and get a good book.

Thanks,

MIKE

my computer (P4 cpu 3.0) takes 1 min 20 seconds to re-load with vsync on or off...Perhaps that is just the normal time for loading all the many many things that are needed. there is a lot of ground stuff to load...

Mine doesn't take that long to load. Not sure what your problem is. Hope you get it sorted out.

I think I remember seeing a post somewhere that GBX id'ed the slow loading issue is attibuted to VSYNC whether or not you had the item checked. Systems are different and they will act that way. Meaning they have identified that unchecking it will work for some and not others. I also saw somewhere that it will be addressed in the next patch. Search the forums because this is from memory.

Personally, mine was loading at about 1 to 1.5 mins. I feared to reload the chkpt due to the load time. Unchecking VSYNC cut the load time to 5-10 seconds.
