Well...I finally finished both games on PC for the first time (I played it on PS2 but it was just horrible...just horrible). I wanted to share with you all what I thought about the games, which to be honest, were far more intense than COD4.
Road To Hill 30: I started with this first. The first mission reminded me of BOB: Day of Days so much. Bakers voice was awesome and the first mission got me going nuts. Allen and Garnnet made me laugh, but it was really sad for them to die. I actually felt sad because they died. The story was the best story I have seen out of a video game...hands down. The graphics for this game still look good on my computer, it runs perfectly. I was very impressed with that. The realism of the gun sounds and the missions were sick. The one thing that was kinda bad was the enemy AI. They would not move if they saw that I was flanking, good thing is that it was improved in EIB. Excellent game! Earned in Blood: I was reading online that this game got a ton of heat because it had the same graphics and such. I think that EIB was an amazing game. The graphics improved and the enemy AI improved drastically. If I was setting up to fire on an enemy and they were about to get flanked, they would fall back...it was challenging at times to kill these guys because they were running and falling back all over the place...COD4 couldn't touch that. I really liked the story in EIB...Red is a sweet character along with Paddock and the rest of the squad. I liked how after a few missions you go back to the interview with Red. I loved the freezes in the game where everything turns black and white and Red talks with that Army guy. Red's voice was great...better than Bakers. The last 3 missions in the game I think were the best...The All Americans was an amazing mission. It was really sad that Doyle died...It almost brought tears to my eyes because Doyle and Hartsock were so tight we each other. In Part 2 when Doyle runs up to you and the tank shoots a round at that guy (Who was that guy?? Who died??) and Doyle got hit and carried you off to the side...I was shocked to see so much blood come out and to see the body of that guy get disintegrated. I was just amazed!! I was also sad because most of my squad was badly hurt including myself (we were at yellow/orange). Then seeing 2 tanks and Germans everywhere. I wanted my squad to survive so I left them back to distract the tanks while I ran to the panzerfausts and flanked the guys near them. I took out the tanks. But, the mission wasnt over. I had to get the 88 on the hill in the town. I looked up in the air and saw bombers and there were bombs going off all around. The dirt was getting thrown all over the place and pieces of wood and rock were being hurled up in the air. It was an intense battle. At this point I was red and I lost 1 guy in my Fire team and 2 in my Assault and everybody was red in color. We were all about to die. I ran up chucking my grenades and I finished everybody off. The noise of this level was amazing. I was amazed by this mission. Now Gearbox...I am just amazed at this game...even after using Next Gen Xbox 360 and seeing COD4...these games beat it easily. I really feel connected with the guys in my squad, it was a ton of fun and I would like to thank you all for making these incredible games. I have never been so into a game and feel so connected to the characters in it. Randy and Col. John Antal...if you are reading this: I would like to thank you both for these games. I watched all the bonus features and I learned a lot from you both...Col. Antal...I learned a lot about the events at D-Day. Randy, you just rock!! The entire Gearbox team rocks and I hope that H'sH will continue the story that I love so much.

Good for you, we all feel the same, thats why we come here and mull over these forums Religiously every day (well most of us). Cause we know the next one will be in the running For G.O.T.Y.

preachin' to the choir my friend.
Quick question, I've asked this before but didn't get any difinitive answers. Why does EIB have so many more frame rate issues then RTH30 where the only notable frame rate muncher is the improved AI? |
