Well, to be honest, in a game like A: CM, I would be even happy if it was objective based or simply your goal was to survive, and thinking about how big-calibre names (for a game, anyway) are involved in writing the plot, makes me certain that this game will be full of win in this area, and personally I can't wait to see what ideas will be thrown in here.

I know what you mean. The devs have opened up so many questions already that I am dying to know the answers to.
What will we find on the Sulaco. What will we find when we return back to LV-426. What are W-Y up to at the secret research facility. What sort of alien research is going on there. (Hopefully no A:R cloning) Are they breeding aliens. Will that planet become overrun by the xenomorphs. If so, how will the colonial marines neutralise the threat. Will any of the characters from the films make an appearance (Bishop model android etc) What will we find out about the Space Jockey? Will there be any other mysteries that we don’t even have questions to yet. I’m not looking for answers to those questions right now. But its stuff I am looking forward to finding out when we eventually get to play the game.

I'd love them to open up new questions in the lifecycle and character of the species. Not inventing new stuff to make their mark but introducing some mystery back into the franchise.
We all know so much about the Alien and so we are able to get a grip on how to tackle it. Let's have more weird unexplaned stuff that gets us scared again.

I'd like to see some hints to the space jockey, alien homeworld and origins. Nothing spelled out or anything, just some hints that could go somewhere in future games. I mean you have to explore these types of thing sometime or it becomes a little pointless, right?

Me too. I would like to know more about the space jockeys as a race and where they came from also. Didn't they find the homeworld in one of the novels? Weren't they harvested/developed/created by the Predators for hunting rituals?

Noooo! don’t go to the Predator stuff dude.
Hehe that’s really only part of the AvP mythology. Which is quite a stretch from the original ALIEN only films. Its all none canon in terms of the ALIENS franchise. AvP has its own canon, but a lot of fans get it mixed up from time to time. Its widely regarded by fans and even Ridley Scott since it was his idea that the Xeno’s are weapons of war. That’s definitely where GBX are going with their game because the story set-up was published in the GI preview. Lookie here> “Ripley is dead. None of the soldiers dispatched from the military ship Sulaco survived the infestation of the colony Hadley’s Hope. The details of their doomed struggle against a predatory alien species on the moon LV-426 are unknown. In the absence of firsthand accounts, only one clue remains to illuminate the unexplained disappearance of Hicks, Vasquez, Hudson and the rest of the squad. That clue is the Sulaco itself, which has been found floating through space, the hypersleep pods ejected after an apparent fire in the chamber. The ship does not respond to any communications. Sent in to investigate the disappearance, a new squad of colonial marines is about to stumble upon the horror Lieutenant Ellen Ripley sacrificed herself to destroy: ruthlessly adaptable creatures bred as weapons and created for war. Hundreds of them.”

I am not big into long drawn out stories etc etc etc. I just like to immerse in the game world and experience whatever comes along. As in.... just discover the mysteries as apposed to being spoonfed info via cutscenes etc. Some peeps tho really seem to need to be told a story of some kind.
I just like to discover the mysteries with the questions they raise. I don`t wanna necessarilly know any answers at all.

Sry Sh0dan, for bringing up the Predators. It just had to be said
. So the Space Jockeys created the Aliens as weapons for war. Maybe the SJs were in combat with the Predator race. Maybe that's what happened to their race, the Predators killed them all or maybe their own created weapons killed them. Aren't they like giants, I read that somewhere. Maybe we'll find out one way or the other. So has A1, A2 and A3 all already happened when this game time line starts? It saids that Ripley is dead as in what happened in A3. So are we going to run into half alien Ripley clone when we storm the W-Y facility?

Well that used to be Ridley Scott’s take on the matter. It might have changed since Brian Martel from GBX spoke to him. The story in ACM is definitely taking the aliens are bred for war approach though. Also the Aliens licence which GBX have doesn’t cover Predators, only what’s in the four ALIEN films and any genuine books / novels. So Predators will definitely not be involved in the story in any way. SEGA would have needed the AvP licence which covers both creatures if they wanted to weave any Predator material into the story. I thinks it’s a good thing considering the recent AvP films. Time to finally get back to the good stuff. As for why they where created there is a wide number of possibilities to explore. A civil war in which the Space Jockey civilization was torn apart. Or maybe they encountered another race of highly advanced ETs we haven’t been introduced to yet? There’s some really cool speculation on that front if you look around the net enough.
