Yeah I updated my gfx drivers and still the same trouble.

EDIT: After also updating the PhysX driver the game works perfectly!

Thanks but after updating both the gfx driver and the PhysX driver I still get the same error at the loading point just after "The Bell Tower"...

I'm having the same problem, but I'm on SP2. I may give SP3 a try, though. I bought through steam so that might be what is wrong. I've tried running the accompanying files in the redist folder (DirectX, PhysX, and VS redist package installs) manually. None fixed the problem. I'm glad someone was at least able to play for a bit.

EDIT - I wanted to specify since we have multiple errors going in one post that mine is the file not found errors. By the way, as a programmer myself, I doubt that upgrading drivers will fix this error as the problem sounds to be missing asset files or the game is trying to run installers for DirectX, PhysX, and VC that it cannot find.

WRT:
I receive a Microsoft error message when trying to run game following a seemingly successful installation. Error includes the following information:

General Protection fault!
History:Address = 0x6dab1e (filename not found)
0x4015be (filename not found) 4 other similar lines referencing filename not found addresses
RegisterWaitForInputIdle() Address = 0x7c817067 (filename not found)

Has anyone determined how to identify the missing files referenced in the error message? Perhaps moving them from the DVD to the appropriate location on the hard drive would solve the problem. In the interim, I will try Seagull5's driver update solution (see link above) this weekend and report back.

Thanks.

@nephix

I`ve got the same problem as you. Cant even start the game, since I get instantly a "dont send" window followed by exact same error as yours. Im running XP pro Sp3 with my gfx drivers and Ageia Physx both up to date.

Have you managed to fix it? Since you havent posted in this thread for a couple of days..
