Default ATI crashing/slowdown in Black Friday (rain) level

If you have an ATI graphics card and are seeing crashes or severe slowdowns when playing the Black Friday level (the one with rain), it is a known problem with the ATI driver.

We are working on a patch and are trying to make it available as soon as possible.

Im not getting slowdowns or crashes, though one time i was playing through that level and a lot of the vehicles were invisible, you could see the outline with the rain hitting it but that was about it. Also text on the objective map and even the name of the level was missing. When it came to the cutscene near the end the characters bodies went invisible with the head being properly rendered.

Yep. That's another known problem with ATI cards. We're working on a fix.

I think it also breaks the in game menu when that happens, so you can't see the menu to change options and stuff.

So, there's a lot of us on ATi cards that are experiencing the same problem. Hell, I started thinking I was the only one.

Congratulation the game is really awesome and I really enjoyed it until Black Friday when I had to stop playing thanks to the said problems.
How come this blatant glitch that only happens with Ati cards never occured during the testing of the game before the release? I wonder if it has something to do with the nVidia logo.

I may sound like a douche but don't get me wrong I'm glad that you are working on the problem but it's like watching an epic movie that you have waited for years and then suddenly it would stop halfway because the projector gets fubared so you need to wait an undetermined amount of time to finally see the ending.

Listen, there is a way to pass it: Reduce everything, textures and shaders to low, put the resolution to 800x600, non-full screen, open up the Catalyst and the Task Manager and be on the lookout in the GPu and CPU activity. Especially the GPU. Try playing extra carefully and look into the big explosions or in front (so to speak, no sudden moves). Remove everything on the HUD, even mission status because that causes the most of the problem. Trust me, I managed to complete the mission and see the scenes after that. When I got to the next mission, I was able to play it normally again.

Yeah and that's exactly why I upgraded my computer to play extra careful on low settings!

[Sarcasm] Yeah, how DARE they make a mistake![/sarcasm]

Sorry, just thought that felt a tad too harsh.

I have this problem too. All parts of it. I thought I could manage it for just that level, but then the screen went black.
