Default Vitally Important Borderlands Questions

I'm working on putting together videos to answer some of the questions that the community has concerning Borderlands. If you have questions about the game then post them here.

I'll be picking questions to answer based on which ones I think will be useful and interesting to the community as a whole (ie, both people who have been following Borderlands for awhile and those who just recently found out about it).

Please keep your questions in this Thread. Messaging me personally will severely decrease the odds of your question being addressed. And by severely I mean your odds goto 0% and my feelings toward you go into the negative.

I've got some... lemme dig em up...

*EDIT*
Stuff I asked OXM but didn't get answers to. I also omitted some things that had been clarified elsewhere.

Commencing bombardment....

Besides the Saltracer (the buggy we keep seeing) are there any other vehicles?
Before the art style change they showed a picture of 3 vehicles in a garage like area (picture: http://i456.photobucket.com/albums/q.../garagetl5.jpg) In the picture you'll see 3 dune buggies. From Left to Right, Treads, Wheels, Hover.
Will that type of vehicle customization still be in the game?

Can the Black (High Rate of Fire) and Silver (Extreme Critical) stack with the other effects (Electric, Corrosive, Incendiary, High Explosive)?

In the Game Informer 2007 September issue there was mention of Temporal bullets. Are they still in the game? If so, what color LED is used to represent the temporal bullets? Purple?

Will characters still retain their own unique story lines?
We've seen that you can name the characters to your choosing but should they retain their own story line will they still be called Mordecai, Lilith, Brick, or Roland when NPCs are talking to them? Similar to Morrowind where they just always refer to you as Outlander.

We know melee weapons are in the game. We know Brick can punch people with his fists and Mordecai is usually shown with a sword.
Mordecai's Sword. Is that unique to Mordecai or can anyone use swords?
Is Brick the only one that can punch? Or can anyone punch simply but unequipping their weapon?

HellFace said he named a gun after someone on the Official Borderlands Forums (source link: http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com...ad.php?t=71476). Who did he name the gun after and what does it do?

Will there be possible DLC (or patch) to allow more than 4 player Co-Op? Have you guys ever considered having more than 4 player?

There was an article written by GameSpot (source: http://e3.gamespot.com/story/6211646...-new-art-style) in which they talk about Lilith's phase walk ability "lets her run through enemies and kill them outright with electrical or fiery powers". Does this mean she has Electrokensis or Pyrokenisis? Does she have some sort of Temporal Anomaly power?
In the GameSpot E3 09 Gameplay coverage for Borderlands (video link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE1D1gRbmSE) @ 54 - 56 seconds in, is that Lilith setting the Bandit on fire?
In the GameTrailers E3 09 Gameplay coverage (video link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MadJGL7vtgk) @ 2:24 - 2:25 you'll notice a distortion appear around the Bandit, is this one of Lilith's Powers at work? Is that a temporal bullet?
Can we get more information on Lilith in general, "besides she can phase walk"?

Will we see alien technology used in more then just ranged weapons (armor & melee)? A yes or no would be preferable.

Are Meson, Plasma, and Laser weapons still a part of the game?

There has been recent talk about the game taking place in 3 seperate Acts. If we are in Act 3 will be be able to visit the locations from Acts 1 and 2? If we're in Act 1 will be able to visit areas in Acts 2 and 3 before advancing the story line?

Will we be able to drive the Bucket Wheel Excavator? (picture: http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/1...309hd00748.jpg)

At one point it was mentioned that bandits would try to hijack your vehicle (reference picture: http://media.teamxbox.com/games/ss/1...1187307914.jpg). Is this still in the game? If so, can we hijack their vehicle? If we can will it be similar to that of Halo?

Are these still in the game? (reference picture: http://www.ugo.com/images/galleries/...derlands_1.jpg)

How does vehicle damage work? Are they repairable?
Cinemablend once mentioned over 10,000 vehicle parts for customization, is this still in the game?

Can we dual wield?

How is experience distribution handled?

Are there customizable controls for PS3/360? Not different control schemes but fully customizable controls.

Will we see bifunctional/trifunctional weapons? (M16 wtih M203 grenade launcher attachment)
Will we see options on weapons for single shot, burst, full auto?

If Plasma Guns are in the game, can we expect to see a Plasma Saber in the game as well? Think lightsaber.

Give us information on character customization or screenshots if possible.

Give us information on the inventory management and if it is based on a data storage limit or just a standard item limit. Think RE4's attache case vs RE5's action menu.

Vehicle spawn posts, what vehicles can you spawn? Do you have to buy them?

Is it possible to fast travel to areas that you haven't yet found? Think Oblivion being able to fast travel to the Imperial City right off.

We all know the weapons are procedurally generated using the gearbuilder. However, I am interested if there will be any weapons that resemble real life weapons, or weapons that were made for past games by gearbox. Such as weapons from the BiA series, half life, halo, or aliens series.

(It would be TONS of fun to shoot a midget in the face with an M1 Garand )

Thanks for the thread, cant wait to see the vid!

How does the character customization work?
What does the vehicle creation/customization look like?
How is the "in town" inventory organized or laid out?

P.S. You should flash 30 or so guns extremely fast at the very end of the video just for fun.

How about showing us how character customization works? I hope it's a little more complicated than writing a name and choosing a color.

EDIT: lol, two people asking the same before I even finished typing.
EDIT2: I also want to know if we have to obtain the vehicle parts used for vehicle customization. If so, how? Random loot drops?
EDIT3: Is there an inventory list/menu? How do you change what to equip?
EDIT4:

I don't think this will be answered and I don't see why anyone would want this to be answered already. I think we're supposed to try and find out on our own when the game is out. Please don't ruin it.

I second the question about Customization options.

Also:
What can we do with our Vehicle, how many Types are there that we can drive and what Modifications are going to be available ?

Ahhh, glad to see the developers getting involved (especially recently).

My one and only question:

As I have been complaining a lot about recently, I am extremely agitated by the fact the form of protection (shields) has a regeneration time, to make it worse, it regenerates DURING COMBAT.

(refer back this thread page where I justify my reason for hating it and suggest a better idea)

I would like you to explain why the developers would go with such an idea in this sort of game (with stats/leveling/character development etc), and whether you can give me a guaranty that there will still be a challenge within Borderlands while having this franchise killing system.
