Hi i just returned to borderlands after a few months break and decided to get both DLC's, and it was fun all over again ofcource. but i keep having the feeling they could have done so much more.
first issue i had was with neds zombie island is what allot of people experience here is that its waaay to easy. its not that zombie's deal low damage. its just that they dont shoot, have no shield and ontop of that move slow as hell so they are barely able to even reach me. allot of times i'm just playing arround with them, put the hud off, take a few screenshots and have a cup of tea while they are trying to chase me-.- im not even trying. those long thin zombies with a ugly face puking arround, werescags and the big dudes with the barrels are cool (to bad 1 shot on the barrel and they are down) but there are just way to many regular slow moving zombie spawns. i think adding a few hundred werescag spawns in every map together with the puking zombies and it actually might turn out a little bit more challenging because werescags are the only monsters that are able to reach me sometimes. strangely they seemed very rare to encounter though. mad moxxi's underdome seems more fun and challenging, i did 2 arenas so far but sadly only 1 person joined me online all that time and only for about 5 minuts. =/ anyway the penalty's are allot of fun and it can be tough at times, specially when u get the no shield penalty =p one downside, i was kinda expecting some kind of show going on at the theatre stage in the area where the bank/arena stage select is :/ it almost feels gearbox was intending to do that but left it out in the end for some reason. hmm, maybe something for later? just for having a few shows playing there once in a while (including steve and claptrap doing some funstuff for example xD) would make this DLC epic lol, now its just a boring empty stage >.> so.. overall opinion about the DLC's. zombie island could have been sooo much better with a slight tweak. underdome is fun though but missing online players sadly. I haven't gotten either yet... kind of putting it off until the third comes out, and I'm hoping they bundle them as they do with some other games. So much more incentive to buy DLC (at least for me) when they offer a bundle pack of the old with the new.
Last time I checked, Fallout still hadn't bundled their five DLCs and are charging $10 (or almost $10) a pop. May as well buy the game of the year edition and never have to worry about downloading them or running out of your five to download. |

I don't have a problem with all the weak zombies, it was fun to kill them. The real problem lies with the stronger enemies though: Defilers, Tankensteins, Lance Zombies, Suicide Zombies and Wereskags.
They're too weak. They all die in a few shots. IMO there should've been more Lance Zombies: Lance Engineer Zombie Lance Infantry Zombie Lance Defender Zombie (+ Badass types...) Suicide Zombies need more health and increased movement speed. Defilers need some other ranged attack and increased movement speed. Wereskags need more health and melee damage. All Lance Zombies need more health and maybe shields? Tankensteins need more damage.

I don't let other people's opinions persuade or dissuade me from from buying a game or DLC. I basically read as much as I can about what is going to be in it and then I'll decide from there. Or play the demo if there is one. Or play a friend's copy.
I hadn't really been playing games much for a while and so I wasn't following any of the gaming news. I didn't know anything about Borderlands. I saw someone playing it and became curious. Played it myself then and got hooked. I started paying attention to all of the Borderlands news then. Read up on the DLC and figured I would like it. I was right. Not everyone is going to like all of the DLC. Just because it didn't synch with them you shouldn't let it dissuade you from getting it. Check it out yourself and see if it's for you. At the same time don't let the people who do love it to convince you to get it if it might not be something you are interested in. To some people the extra SDU items you get from Zombie island was worth it alone to get the DLC. They're probably the same people who bought Moxxi's just for the bank and the extra skill points. If you want a little bit more than that for you $10 then hopefully each DLC has something for you. Last edited by KooriiShiiemu; February 9th, 2010 at 05:17 PM. Zombie Island isn't the problem. If you found zombie island too easy, you've simply got weaponry that is more powerful than the designers considered typical. See... if they designed it around really established players facing a challenge, the rest of the players wouldn't be able to enjoy it. If you run chests in New Haven and then complain that the game is too easy, you really have no one to blame but yourself. Even if you choose not to run New Haven, but trade items or use gifts from others to strengthen your character... again, you can't complain that the game is too easy. You've made the game too easy.
The only problem the developers are responsible for is providing the oppertunity to play. It's up to the players to play as intended or not. |

Zombies don't carry guns so they're not going to shoot and I doubt they're going to have shields because they're simple mill workers.
I prefer the slow zombies they put in, all this fast zombie crap in the media pisses me off. I agree that they're not that hard to kill, maybe they should have upped the spawn rate by about 200% to make it challenging but I liked it as it was. Hell, when I played as Brick it was a challenge. lol As Shagsbeard said, if you play through without trading or farming for the most part you're going to have crappy gear, that's what happened to ol' Brick and I'll tell ya it was a lot of fun getting eaten by zombies. The first time I was downed while waiting at that one spot for that one guy I was dumbfounded.
